The idea: Classrooms should break students into small groups (3-6). Each group will design and build a Rube Goldberg machine, compete against each other and send the winner to the Wisconsin State contest competition on April 29, 2005. First, second and third place winners will be selected from the Wisconsin State competition, but only the first and second place winners will advance to the National Competition.

Schools and school districts outside the State of Wisconsin that do not participate in a State competition may register for the Multi-State competition. If more than 12 schools from the same state register for the Multi-State competition, there will be first and second place winners. All other schools will be grouped together and a first and second place winner will be chosen.

First and second place winners in all other State competitions should register for the National Competition by February, 2005.

REGISTRATION FORM FOR THE STATE AND MULTI-STATE COMPETITION IS DUE BY: January 7, 2005.
